What
is Counselling?
Counselling
helps you deal with things that may be troubling you
such as:
relationship difficulties
loss and bereavement
fear, anxiety and panic
feeling low and depressed
irritability and anger
uncertainty
feeling confused or out of control
low self-esteem.
You may just need someone to talk to who is outside
your circle of friends and family.
How does counselling work?
In my counselling sessions I will try to give you the
time, space and positive attention you need to focus
on whatever is bothering you. By putting your experiences
and feelings into words you can begin to make sense
of them. Talking things through with me, in a setting
where you feel safe, could help you understand your
thoughts, feelings and behaviour. You may then begin
to feel less confused, more in control and better able
to make the changes you want.
I will draw on my knowledge and understanding to find
ways to help you. In this way I can enable you to get
in touch with your own healing processes and find a
way forward.
I will help you make your own choices: I won't tell
you what to do.
How does it start?
Contact
me and I will offer you an appointment for a
first meeting. At this first meeting you can talk about
what is troubling you and together we can decide if
counselling would be helpful or if something else might
be better.
I will also explain more about
how counselling works and about other issues such as
confidentiality. You can ask any questions or raise
any concerns you have. We can then arrange to meet for
further sessions.
How much does
it cost?
My fee for each 50-minute session is £50. In some circumstances
I may be able to offer a discount.
