What
Is Supportive Coaching?
I have recently developed a type of coaching to help
people cope with major life changes, such as being made
redundant.
These major life changes are known to cause stress.
Although stress is part of everyday life, too much can
be distressing, and can lead to mental and physical
health problems. It can also paralyse you so that you
cannot make the necessary decisions to move forward.
Supportive coaching is less goal-oriented and more exploratory
than life coaching.
With
supportive coaching I can help you to
regain a feeling of control
deal with emotional reactions
get back your confidence and self-esteem
muster your resources
consider your options
take positive action.
What happens in a
supportive coaching session?
Faced with a crisis, people often find that their thoughts
go round and round the same well-worn tracks.
We will start by talking about what is going on in your
life, how you are feeling about it and what you want
from coaching. This may help you to think about your
situation in a new light, see other possibilities and
opportunities, and find a way forward.
How does it start?
Contact
me and I will offer you an appointment for a
first meeting. At this first meeting you can talk about
what you want and together we can decide if coaching
would be helpful or if something else might be better.
I will also explain more about how coaching works and
about other issues such as confidentiality. You can
ask any questions or raise any concerns you have. We
can then arrange to meet for further sessions.
How much will it cost?
My fee for each 50-minute session is £50.
In some circumstances I may be able to offer a discount.
